Gabriela is an Argentinian-Canadian artist based in Cantley, Quebec and Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Her independent studio practice has been complemented by teaching and working with students at various levels, as well as her graduate research in art education. She worked for several years as a Studio Art Technologist with BFA students at Algoma University. She is currently revisiting the focus of her MFA graduate research, which involves the making of living spaces. Influenced by her immigrant status in Canada, the themes of reinvention and adaptation through the materiality we inhabit connect to her current work in installation, printmaking and video.
